Framekit WZ
Our WZ series has been developed for BMW R models and is available in three versions. Whether you are looking for a complete sidecar combination or want to build your own, we can supply the right kit. All kits are TÜV-approved and include instructions. The frame kit is your basis. You can purchase the sidecar from us or use your own.
Key features
- For BMW R850/1100/1150 (R/RT/RS/GS). R1200GS and R1200R
- TÜV-approved & suitable for RDW inspection
- Choose one of our frame kits: Basic, WZ1, WZ2
- Work with one of our sidecar bodies Heeler, Fox. Or mount your own body.
- Standard galvanized frame, powder coating optional
- Sidecar wheel: 13″ steel car rim with 145/80-13 tire
Basic version (WZ basic):
- Minimal modifications to the engine
- Connecting parts, manual, TÜV certificate included
- Suitable for solo and sidecar use
- Retain original BMW wheels (cast and spoke wheels)
- Cast wheels are TÜV-approved for sidecar use*
WZ1:
- Includes everything from the basic version
- Trailing arm shortener → lighter steering
- Hydraulic drum brake on sidecar wheel
WZ2:
- Everything from the WZ1
- Rear wheel adapter and 15″ car rim (155/15 tire)
- This allows the motorcycle’s ABS to remain functional
Specific BMW models:
For the R1150 and R1200GS, R1200R with aluminum cast wheels, the rear wheel adapter kit with 15″ car rim is included in the basic kit (the original rear wheels are not TÜV approved for sidecar use)
*R1150GS, R1200GS, R1200R Classic, and R1150 Rockster require a modified caster shortener
With our frame kits, you can build a new bicycle section based on your own sidecar body.
Important:
- Maximum width of sidecar body: 65 cm excluding mudguard.
- Commonly used sidecar bodies:
Ural, Velorex, EZS Compact, EZS Clique, Sidecar One, Mobec Gipsy
The frame kits are available separately or you can choose your box:
RDW inspection of your sidecar conversion is mandatory.
